EU foreign affairs chief
Federica Mogherini said Monday the European Union is "as strong
as it ever was" and will be "even more so in future" after
Britain voted to withdraw from the Union. "We discussed the
situation and ways to... reaffirm the strength of the
partnership (with the United States) and the role of the EU as
far as its partners around the world," Mogherini told reporters
after a meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry and
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. "I believe it
is important we manage this crucial time hand in hand,"
Mogherini said. She confirmed Kerry will participate in a summit
of EU foreign ministers July 18 in Brussels.
