The parliamentary majority will on
Wednesday filed at the supreme Cassation Court a request for a
referendum on the government's Constitutional reform, sources
said Tuesday. Signatures will be gathered among MPs Tuesday
morning and the request will be filed in the afternoon. The
oppositions have already gathered the requisite one fifth of the
House needed for the referendum request on the reform, which
streamlines Italy's costly and slow-moving political machinery.
The referendum will take place in October.
