Former industry minister Federica
Guidi told ANSA on Thursday that she was the "injured party"
after speaking to Potenza prosecutors about an oil-sector probe
in relation to which she resigned last week. "I answered all
their questions," Guidi told ANSA. "I learned that I am an
injured party from a legal point of view". Guidi resigned last
Thursday over a wiretapped conversation with her oil-industry
boyfriend, Gianluca Gemelli, about a government amendment to the
Tempa Rossa project benefitting him in Basilicata. Gemelli is
being probed for alleged influence peddling. Guidi is not under
investigation.
"I'd like to thank the magistrates for having given me the
chance to clear up such an unpleasant affair for me so quickly,"
she said.
