Justice Minister Andrea Orlando
on Friday said that new anti-corruption legislation approved by
a wide majority on Thursday makes it "possible to better attack
the corruptive network," speaking on the sidelines of an
electoral gathering in the province of Naples.
"After 15 years, false accounting is finally back," Orlando
said.
Orlando was referring to content in the new law which makes
false accounting a crime again, years after the former
Berlusconi government passed legislation effectively
decriminalizing it.
The new law also wipes out the possibility of graft
offences timing out or offenders pleading out.
