Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni on Friday described Giovanni Lo Porto as a "generous, experienced aid worker" as he reported to the Lower House after the White House announced that the Italian hostage was killed in a CIA drone strike in January targeting al-Qaeda in an area along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Gentiloni also expressed his sympathy to the family of the aid worker, who was killed in a raid targeting an al-Qaeda compound along with American hostage Warren Weinstein. "I can guarantee that Italy will find a way to honour the memory of Giovanni Lo Porto," he added.
