(ANSA) - Rome, February 26 ? A further 33 government cars
will be sold on e-Bay to the public in an ongoing effort to
dispose of bloated ministerial automobile pools, the premier's
office said Thursday.
In previous sales of so-called "blue cars" 118 vehicles
were put up for auction and 82 sold, including four bullet-proof
cars, yielding revenue of 701,987 euros that was earmarked for
reducing the government deficit, official sources said.
The 33 cars now being auctioned are from the Italian
defence ministry pool and will be sold in three batches with
each online auction lasting seven days, meaning the first 10
cars can be bought up until March 5.
The cars going on sale this time include Alfa Romeos, BMWs,
Fiats and Lancias.
Average starting price for the cars sold so far was 7,288
euros and average sale price 8,561 euros.
