As many as one million people
may show up in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome on October 25 to
protest recently passed labour reforms, according to a survey by
the Tecne' research firm for the CGIL trade union confederation.
Actual bus seat reservations number about 120,000, excluding the
region of Lazio, where the demonstration will be held. CGIL,
Italy's biggest and most left-wing union, said the reservations
also did not count participants coming from other nations for
the event.
