A disabled man in Italy has
launched an online campaign in protest at a review on
TripAdvisor in which a holiday village in the Abruzzo region was
criticised for hosting a group of wheelchair-bound people.
Iacopo Melio, 22, is using the hashtag
#vorreiprendereiltreno (I'd like to take the train) to raise
awareness of the campaign.
The anonymous reviewer, who gave a one-star rating to the
business, said: "It's not a nice sight for my kids to see people
suffering on a wheelchair from morning until evening".
In a response posted on Facebook, Melio said: "If I have
children one day, they will know that pain, the real kind, is
hidden in indifference and not in illness".
Melio said he would be going on holiday this year "along
with all the 'special' people of the world, who have nothing
special about them aside from their uniqueness".
