Culture Undersecretary Vittorio
Sgarbi on Thursday shrugged off reportedly getting knocked out
of the running to chair the Miss Italy beauty pageant's jury in
a row over his lavish earnings on extra political gigs by saying
he was happy being an undersecretary.
rt critic and polemicist Sgarbi, who is reportedly under
investigation for failing to pay 700,000 euros in duties on an
art work he bought in 2020, but has refused to step down as a
result, said after the ruling Brothers of Italy (FdI) party
said "Miss Italy ends for him today" that ''On reading the
statements made during today's press conference I am happy that
the violent polemics against me have achieved the result of
proving my incompatibility with Miss Italia. I am an honourable
under-secretary, but to be the president of Miss Italia you must
at least be a minister''.
