A fire broke out on Monday at
Venice's La Fenice theatre.
The flames were quickly put out but two technicians suffered
smoke inhalation.
They are not in a serious condition, sources said.
The opera house had to be rebuilt after being destroyed by a
fire started by arsonists in 1996.
"You learn from history and the fire was limited and stopped
at once," said La Fenice Superintendent Fortunato Ortombina.
He told ANSA that the fire was caused by a problem with the
secondary power system, which kicks in if there is a black-out.
