A high-tech sound and light show
will illuminate Rome's ancient Forum of Augustus from now
through the summer, to help guests better imagine life in the
Eternal City 2,000 years ago.
As Rome marks its 2,767th birthday this week, the city
government has created a technological spectacle for visitors
that will be shown three times nightly, with narration via
headphones in six languages.
The show, involving a system of projectors throwing the
images of ancient structures onto walls still standing in the
Forum, will guide visitors through daily life in Rome at the
time of Augustus, who died in 14 A.D.
