A 24-year-old Belarussian man was
stopped and fined Monday afternoon after being caught driving
his van over ski slopes at the La Thuile resort in Val d'Aosta,
local sources said Tuesday.
The man had first eluded security guards who signalled to him to
stop, fitted snow tyres to his van and continued to drive his
Poland-registered Renault Master up the hill, they said.
It was only when Carabinieri from La Thuile arrived that the man
stopped.
He passed a blood alcohol test and was fined 200 euros, before
taking his van across to the Mt Blanc Tunnel and continuing his
journey into France.
