An Italian exorcist has been placed
under investigation in a case of artworks suspected to have been
stolen from churches in and around Turin.
The home of the man, Don Marino Basso, 68, parish priest at
Pecetto near Turin, was recently searched in the probe into some
60 artworks that have disappeared, whether due to inventory
mistakes or due to theft, police said Friday.
Italy's crack art cops are investigating Father Basso along with
three other people, two of whom work clearing out attics.
