Three people were confirmed dead on
Friday after the car they were travelling in, a BMW, crashed
through a guardrail in Portogruaro near Venice and ended up in
the Reghena river.
The victims were named as two friends of Kosovo origin, Gjeci
Egli, 20, and Altin Hoti, 22, and Hoti's girlfriend Giulia Di
Tillio, 21, a student of business administration.
They were found by rescuers inside the car,
Initial reports suggested that a fourth person might have been
involved but divers searching the river found no confirmation.
In May Hoti's brother Admir, 19, died in an accident on the
Portogruaro ring road.
On that occasion their father father was also injured.
