The inspection of damage caused by the
passage of Storm Ciaran in the Tuscan city of Prato was a "punch
in the stomach", city mayor Matteo Biffoni said on Friday.
"The inspection in the city was a shock. A punch in the stomach,
a pain that makes you want to cry," wrote Biffoni on social
media.
"But after an evening and a night of devastation we will roll up
our sleeves to clean up, mend and bring our city back to
normal," he added.
Prato was one of several cities in Tuscany to be affected by
extreme bad weather on Thursday.
On Friday five people were said to have died in the storms and a
further four (not six as initially reported) were missing.
