Some 48,000 people in Tuscany are
without electricity amid flooding caused by Storm Ciaran and the
high-speed rail (AV) service between Milan and Rome has been
"significantly" slowed down, Transport Minister Matteo Salvini
said Friday.
The floods have left six people dead and two missing in the
north-central region.
"At the moment there are more than 48,000 users without
electricity and 450 Enel technicians working," said Salvini, who
is also deputy premier.
"At the moment, high-speed trains are significantly slowed down
between Milan and Rome because of problems in Florence.
"The two (local) RFI lines Bologna Prato and Pistoia Prato are
suspended".
