Packets of bread sold in two Arezzo
shops bear a paean to the foodstuff made by late Fascist
dictator Benito Mussolini, a customer reported Friday.
Mussolini, who famously 'won the grain battle', wrote, among
other things: "Love bread, the heart of the home and the perfume
of the table, the joy of the diners. Honour bread, glory of the
fields, fragrance of the land, and feast of life."
This hymn to bread was written on the packets in the
southeastern Tuscan town, with the letter m beneath them.
