The funeral of Giulia Tramontano, a
29-year-old seven-month pregnant Italian woman murdered by her
30-year-old boyfriend Alessandro Impagnatiello near Milan on May
27 in a case that has shocked Italy, will take place on Sunday,
her family said on Saturday.
Tramontano suffered 37 stab wounds including two fatal ones to
the neck, an autopsy revealed Friday.
Impagnatiello has confessed the the murder.
He killed Tramontano after she found out he was having an
affair.
Her family said the private funeral would take place in
Sant'Antimo, a town in the province of Naples where she was born
and where her parents live.
"Thank you for all the affection that you have demonstrated over
these atrocious days," Tramontano's sister said Chiara via
social media.
"Your thoughts have flooded us with love and closeness.
"Now, however, is the time of the last intimate, heart-wrenching
goodbye to Giulia and (her unborn child) Thiago and we would
like to go through it together with our closest relatives and
friends".
