Bad weather will affect the June 2
long weekend when Italy marks Italian National Day and Republic
Day on Friday, forecasters said Thursday.
There will be a widespread further showers, some thunderstorms,
and high winds, especially in the south, they said. Conditions
will continue to be mild for the time of year, and unstable.
On Thursday there will be increasingly frequent and widespread
thunderstorms over Italy.
A yellow alert for bad weather is in place Thursday in ten
regions: Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Lazio,
Molise, Sardinia, Sicily, Umbria and Tuscany.
In the meantime, after the recent disastrous flooding that
claimed 15 lives, bathing bans have been imposed in Romagna: in
the Ravenna, Cesena and Ferrara areas.
