A 4.6-magnitude earthquake that
struck shortly before midnight gave a nasty scare to people in
the southern region of Molise.
Many people took to the streets, with some sleeping in their
cars, after the quake, the epicentre of which was in Montagano,
in the province of Campobasso.
The quake was also felt in parts of the regions of Campania,
Puglia, Abruzzo and Lazio.
Although many locals were spooked, there have been no reports so
far of injuries or major damage.
Schools will be closed on Wednesday in Campobasso and in some
other towns as a precautionary measure.
