There were over 4,800 attacks on
health staff in the three years from 2019 to 2021 and 71% of the
victims were women, work accident insurance agency INAIL said
Friday.
In the three-year period 2019-2021, more than 4,800 cases of
violence and aggression against healthcare workers were
ascertained, an average of about 1,600 per year, it said.
Most of the attacks occurred in nursing homes and hospitals; and
women were by far the most affected, with 71%.
The analysis by the INAIL Statistical Actuarial Consultancy was
presented on the occasion of the second National Day of
Education and Prevention on 12 March.
