Hackers may have been behind the
collapse on Thursday of the Rome municipality website.
Postal police are investigating.
City council sources said technicians intervened to restore the
service, although disruptions were reported throughout the day.
The most recent significant cyberattack in Italy was on 22
February and affected a number of institutional and company
websites including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Interior
Ministry, Ministry of Agriculture, Carabinieri police, Bper bank
and utility company A2a.
The attacks were claimed by a pro-Russian collective and linked
to the visit of Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni to Ukraine.
