(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 9 - A functionary at the Puglia regional
government and a Bari construction entrepreneur were arrested
Thursday in a graft case in the southern Italian region.
Sources said Guardia di Finanza tax police executed in Bari and
its province two precautionary measures of house arrest against
a Puglia Region official and a Bari-based building contractor
accused, for various reasons, of corruption for an act contrary
to official duties and material falsity committed by a public
official in public duties.
The offences were allegedly committed in 2021.
The seizure of assets in the possession of the two arrested
persons and of a manager, at the time of the events, of the
Region's Bursar's Office and Civil Protection Sections (not
reached by precautionary measure) for 80,000 euros is also under
way, judicial sources said.
The seizures included bank accounts and property. (ANSA).
