A 55-year-old coach at a top Rome
youth basketball club who has previous convictions for
paedophile attacks was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of
sexually assaulting one of the boys he was training.
The man, an Italian who has not been named, has been charged
with aggravated and continued sexual violence.
in the past the man has been convicted of aggravate sexual
violence against boys at sporting clubs in other parts of
central Italy, police said.
He was sentenced to two years in jail in 2015, judicial sources
said.
In the latest case the man has also been accused of luring boys
into his office on the pretext of discussing tactics and getting
massages and then abusing them.
He allegedly told them "anyone who reports me won't play".
