A 17-year-old boy was beaten up by
three men in Puglia on January 6 after he looked too closely at
the girlfriend of one of them, sources said Thursday.
Police said he may also have paid the woman an unwanted
compliment in the crowded bar at Galatina near Lecce.
The victim was allegedly hit with punches and kicks, also to the
head when he was on the floor, police said.
The woman's boyfriend, 31-year-old Mattia Marzano, has been
arrested and charged with attempted murder.
The victim suffered a broken nose and had to have stitches in
his eyebrows and lips.
