Rome prosecutors have opened a probe
into possible medical negligence in the recent death in hospital
of a 27-year-old woman from bacterial meningitis, the La
Repubblica daily reported Wednesday.
The woman, Valeria Fioravanti, recently did the rounds of
hospitals in the Italian capital after suffering pain after the
removal of an abscess during the Christmas holidays.
Prosecutors have said they are investigating on possible
negligent manslaughter charges.
