An Italian couple aged 57 and 35 have
been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 38-year-old
tourist on Giglio Island off Grosseto in southern Tuscany, the
site of the Costa Concordia disaster, last summer, Italian media
reported Wednesday.
The 57-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, from Giglio and Rome
respectively, allegedly made the tourist submit to sex sessions
in exchange for cocaine they were pushing, police said,
according to the reports.
They have been charged with sexual violence, bodily harm,
cocaine distribution and robbery.
The alleged victim was rescued by police in the street after
escaping from the couple's villa after being subjected to her
last beating, police said.
Giglio prosecutors said the alleged violence took place at
different times over three days.
