Two people died after a truck flipped
over and crashed into an ambulance on a highway bypass in March
on Monday.
As well as the pair who died in the wreckage, a third person was
seriously injured after the lorry hit the Red Cross vehicle,
local sources said.
The victims were said to be a young male Red Cross volunteer and
the patient who was being transported in the ambulance.
A car was also hit but the occupants were unharmed.
The lorry driver is unhurt but in shock.
The bypass was closed to traffic while rescue teams worked to
extract the two people from the wreckage.
The accident happened near the Ancona Nord exit for the SS76
state highway, in the area of Falconara Marittima.
