A worker whose name and nationality
are not yet known fell off a ladder at a work site and died near
Pisa on Thursday, local sources said.
The accident, the latest in a long and shocking spate of fatal
workplace accidents in Italy, took place at Montecatini Val di
Cecina.
A doctor who rushed to the scene could only confirm that the man
had died.
An autopsy has been ordered.
Trade unions recently said that three workers a day were losing
their lives at work in Italy, calling it "mass homicide".
