Italy registered 180,517 new COVID-19
cases in the October 26 -November 1 period, a drop of 23.5% on
the 236,023 recorded the previous week, the GIMBE medical
foundation said in its weekly coronavirus monitoring report on
Thursday.
It said COVID-related deaths had dropped by 4.1% to 536 from 559
last week.
The number of people in hospital with the coronavirus fell by
6.3% from 7,106 to 6,658.
The number of COVID patients in intensive care was stable at
232.
The foundation said 12.8 million people in Italy eligible for a
fourth doses of a COVID vaccine still had not had one, while
only 4.5 million have.
