Disabilities Minister Alessandra
Locatelli on Thursday lamented the removal of a disabled cancer
patient from a Rome university classroom where she was trying to
eat her lunch.
The minister described the incident as a "serious and
intolerable episode".
The cancer patient, who has been named as Giorgia and who has
100% disabilities, was thrown out of the classroom while trying
to eat her meal.
Locatelli, who reported speaking today with the young woman said
she was "very bitter" and denounced the fact that "a still
short-sighted vision" of disability persists in Italy.
