A wave of heavy rain is set to end
Italy's unusually long St Martin's Summer that has brought
summer weather to the Bel Paese and seen beachgoers taking a dip
over the recent November 1 holiday weekend, forecaster Lorenzo
Tedici of the website www.iLMeteo.it said Wednesday.
Morning fog will give way to scattered showers starting in the
north later Wednesday as abundant rain, strong winds and falling
temperatures are set to sweep the peninsula, he said.
The spell of bad weather will be heralded by the arrival over
Italy Thursday of a cyclonic vortex from northern Europe that
will bring an intense rain front to the country, Tedici said.
Temperatures will fall to seasonal averages everywhere, he said.
