The Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl,
Uiltrasporti, Faisa Cisal and Ugl Autoferro unions said Tuesday
that they have called an eight-hour strike of their members in
the public-transport sector this Friday in protest at employers'
failure to protect staff from physical attacks.
In a statement the unions said immediate action was necessary to
address an "intolerable situation" after "repeated attacks" on
drivers, ticket inspectors and other public-transport workers
all over the country in recent months.
