New updated COVID-19 vaccine against
the most recent Omicron variant will be available for use by the
middle of September, outgoing Health Minister Roberto Speranza
said Wednesday.
He said he expected the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to
greenlight the adapted jabs on Thursday, followed by Italy's
drug authority AIFA in the coming days.
"We count on having the new updates vaccines available already
in mid-September," Speranza told Radio Capital.
