Italy has registered 80,653 new
COVID-19 cases and 157 coronavirus-related deaths in the last
24-hour period, the health ministry said on Thursday.
That was down from 86,067 new cases on Wednesday while the
number of deaths was the same.
The ministry said 366,000 COVID tests had been done in the last
24 hours and the positivity rate was 22%, down from 22.6% on
Wednesday.
It said 410 COVID sufferers were in intensive care, the same as
on Wednesday.
There are 10,984 coronavirus patients in ordinary hospital
wards, a drop of 53 in one day.
