Italy is the worst in the EU for a
population drop linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, Eurostat said
Monday.
After an initial fall in 2020, the EU population continued to
fall in 2021, dropping from 447 as of January 1 2021 to 446.8 on
January 1 2022.
The biggest fall, 253,000, was seen in Italy, followed by France
with 185,900 and Poland with 185,800.
