Storms have hit central Italy,
breaking the muggy 'afa' provoked by the recent heatwave.
Gales struck Florence prompting dozens of calls to the fire
services.
Across Tuscany fire teams were called out over 100 times to
clear fallen trees.
Torrential rains hit Rome and Lazio overnight.
Rain and hail damaged crops around Naples while there were also
violent hailstorms in Marche.
The current break in the steamy heat is set to last the weekend,
after which a fresh heatwave, the fourth to hit Italy recently,
will engulf the Bel Paese.
