Italy's highway company Autostrade
per l'Italia (ASPI) is to give cash back for road works, the
anti-trust authority announced on Friday.
Users of the motorway network will be given back part of their
toll fees in proportion to the delays they suffered from
construction and maintenance work on the motorways, the body
said.
The paybacks will range from 25% to 100%.
In view of the company's willingness to give the compensation,
the authority only fined ASPI the minimum rate of 10,000 euros,
sources said.
