Some 30 migrants fled a reception
centre at Messina Wednesday night, sources said Thursday.
There was a revolt in the centre and a finance guard officer was
wounded in the leg after objects were thrown, they said.
He is not in a serious condition, however.
An unspecified number of the escaped migrants has been caught
and brought back to the facility, but many poured out through a
gap in the fence and hid in the surrounding countryside.
Police are still looking for them.
