Former Lombardy Governor Roberto Formigoni was acquitted of corruption on Tuesday in case concerning allegedly kickbacks related to the acquisition of oncology equipment for a hospital in the northern city of Cremona.
Another former regional official and the former hospital director were also cleared.
Formigoni is currently under house arrest, serving a five-year term in a separate corruption case.
