The alleged leader of a religious
sect was arrested near Florence Wednesday on suspicion of
enslaving girls and sexually abusing them as well as making
child pornography.
The man, a 23-year-old Prato resident, allegedly pretended to
be the Devil and sexually abused female Satanist disciples,
including minors, saying he had supernatural powers and needed
their sexual energy to save the world, police said.
He is accused of at least 13 episodes of sex abuse.
The man "psychologically subjugated" his alleged victims,
police said.
The case was reported by one of the victims' mothers.
