The government's economic
blueprint underlying the budget, the DEF, allocates resources
for businesses but also for the worst-off, Economy MInister Pier
Carlo Padoan said Wednesday. Speaking on TG2, he said "we will
concentrate the resources to boost businesses, on private and
public investments, on productivity, but we will also make
resources available for the weakest income brackets". An update
to the DEF was approved by the government Tuesday night and will
now be put to parliament before it and the 2017 budget bill are
submitted for vetting by the EU.
