A bomb alert in the
northern city of Ventimiglia, on the border with France, is over
after no explosives were found in the area at the centre of the
alarm, sources said Monday.
A fruit-and-vegetable market, two banks and several shops
were evacuated after two anonymous calls to the banks reported
that there was a bomb in the market.
Police and bomb-disposal experts checked the whole area
and the cars parked near the market and found nothing untoward.
