A 76-year-old man died in hospital
on Tuesday after being attacked overnight in his bar in Rome by
an assailant using a broken bottle, sources said.
The victim died after suffering injuries to the head and
neck at the establishment in the relatively well-to-do
Prati-Trionfale area of the capital.
Carabinieri police arrested a 33-year-old Brazilian taxi
driver who is suspected of the homicide, the sources said.
He was stopped in his taxi and is thought to have been
drunk.
The motive of the attack is not yet known
The suspect also ran over one of the Carabinieri who
intervened.
The officer was not badly injured, sources said.
