Over 4,000 young people are
expected to descend on the northern city of Bergamo for Campus
Party, the international event for university students dedicated
to innovation, from July 19-24, organisers said Tuesday.
Participants - who will be accommodated in a special tent
city - will be involved in conferences and workshops, as well as
meeting with digital innovators including Sir Tim Berners Lee,
creator of the world wide web.
It is an "extraordinary opportunity" for a "huge number of
participants" from all over Italy, "but also, I hope, from
abroad," Education Minister Stefania Giannini said at the
presentation in Rome.
Campus Party shows how "universities are changing", the
minister added.
With 51 editions in 11 countries, Campus Party has involved
150,000 students and given life to 690 start-ups since its
launch in Spain in 1997.
