Finance police said Wednesday they
had seized 260 tonnes of toxic chemical waste found in the
courtyard of a derelict factory in the Turin area that went
failed in 2014.
Five people are under investigation on allegations of
uncontrolled dumping of waste and environmental pollution.
The waste included hydrochloric and sulphuric acid,
sulphates, used oils and paints.
Authorities said the site was being properly cleaned.
