Traffic police in Genoa have
sent fine to a cyclist over a March accident in which he was
killed, media reported on Thursday.
Romolo Gravellone, 92, died April 15, two weeks after being
hit by a car while on cycling in the small town of Albenga,
Liguria.
Following his death and incident investigation,
Gravellone was found responsible of violating Italian road laws
and was sent a 57-euro fine.
According to a traffic police report, "Gravellone created
danger and obstruction to other road users".
Albenga municipal police explained that the fine was
processed on April 2 through a mechanized printing and mailing
system, making it "impossible" to recall it.
A lawyer for the Gravellone family said they would file an
appeal.
