A poll released on Friday
revealed 58% of Italians surveyed disagree that Matteo Salvini,
head of the Northern League party, is to be considered the new
leader of the centre-right in Italy.
The Ixè poll for Rai 3 program Agorà showed that despite
the League's growing popularity through its outspoken leader,
only 27% of Italians surveyed think Salvini is the new leader of
the centre-right, a position generally considered to be held by
former premier Silvio Berlusconi.
