(see previous) Assets to the value of
over 15 million euros were seized on Tuesday in a probe into
suspected infiltration by the Calabrian 'Ndrangheta mafia into
the legal economy in and around Turin.
Eighteen companies, 145 properties, 25 vehicles, bank
accounts and a yacht were among the assets seized.
20 people were also arrested in connection with the
investigation Tuesday.
Police said the Calabrian Mob had tried to get hold of
contracts for the controversial high-speed rail link between
Turin and Lyon in France, among other things.
