Istat said Friday that Italian
exports were up by 10.7% in April with respect to the same month
last year, while imports rose by 1.4%.
The national statistics agency said the year-on-year growth
regarded "almost all the main trade partner countries", both EU
and non-EU ones, including Germany, with the rise in exports
there ending "a year of uninterrupted decline".
It said Italian exports grew by 2.3% in April compared to March
and imports fell by 1.1% in month-on-month terms
"In April 2024, the trade balance registered a surplus of +4,807
million euros (-228 million Euros deficit for EU countries and
+5,036 million euros surplus for non-EU countries)," Istat said.
"Excluding energy, the trade balance surplus was equal to +8,595
million euros".
